Sopranos in Bed

Babe is addicted to television. I've known this since we started dating, the man uses it as company when he can't sleep, it's what he does when he's bored, he even uses it for work to keep up with sports and what his players are doing. So why, when his addiction pours over into our bedroom, am I surprised?

As I sit here typing away on the laptop, my darling hubby is watching one of his favorite series, "The Sopranos". Do you know what it's like to share your bed with Tony Soprano and his own large "family", Jack Bauer of "24" and although I dabble a bit myself in "Heroes", I don't feel so connected to them that I want them in my bedroom on whichever night it is that they come on!

Along with regular television he will torture himself (and me too) with Bill O'Reilly, the idiot on Fox News who, somehow, gets to chat it up for far too long in MY bedroom about current issues with opinions that make you want to cut his eyelids off. And don't get me started on "Hannity and Colmes", can any of the Fox News men I detest at least look like SOMETHING? I mean really! At least "Entourage" has Adrian Grenier, try to pull me in with something!

So even after our 27" television suddenly blew out on us, then on to my college television which is about 13" on its biggest day, we're now on to the one from the office downstairs. Have you ever tried to watch a 13" tv from across the room in bed?? It's enough to make you blind.

Apparently the tv vs. no tv in the bedroom argument isn't one I'll ever win, although I still try to battle it on a regular basis. I'm not sure what other couples do but after nearly 11 years with Babe, I think I should just bury the hatchet...which reminds me of one of the scary movies he indulges in on the "Chiller" channel. Somebody SAVE me!!
