Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired

Lately I have been so tired that a nap is no longer a luxury but a necessity. Even when I'm getting my coveted 8 hours of sleep I wake up dragging my butt around the house like I had spent the entire night and wee hours of the morning partying like the young bucks. I'm not sure what is up but I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired and no one having any answers for me!

Once I was tested for anemia...nothing. But with low iron being a prevalent ailment in my family I take iron supplements periodically, but a multivitamin on a daily basis. And I'm still tired? This has been going on, consistently, for 2 weeks now and I cannot live like a 2-year-old, a midday nap requirement isn't for me! I like to have Nas take his nap so I can enjoy some time to do whatever I want to do, or need to do as the case may be.

Have you ever been tired, like you have things to do but you'd rather lay down and just relax a bit? I've been there. Come 3:00 or so I'd like to just sit and enjoy some Dr. Phil and a nice cup of tea if it's not 1,000 degrees outside. Okay, have you ever been so tired, for 14 days in a row, that you wake up feeling like someone chased you all 8 hours of what you thought was peaceful, restful sleep? So tired that most of the morning drags by in slow motion and you start losing things? Tired to the point that you live, literally, for the 11 a.m. hour when everybody in the house shuts down for naptime and that everybody includes you?

You aren't napping because it'd be a nice, cozy thing to do. You are napping because your eyelids are so heavy you want to pull out your eyeballs and put them in your jewelry box where it's nice and dark. You are napping because if you don't you might pass out during snacktime with your kids and end up with yogurt and fruit on your tired, sad face when your head becomes entirely too heavy to hold up and those tired eyes just give out. You are napping because your are beyond sleepy, tired, even exhausted...you've taken fatigue to a whole new place.

Day in and day out, lately, I have taken fatigue to a whole new place and I just want to feel normal again. If I'm not trying to keep the irritability of mental "illness" at bay so I don't snap at my kids all day, I'm working like a dog just to stay awake. Sometimes the only remedy is Starbucks. Then there's the caffeine cycle, like that will be good come tomorrow, but not everyday allows me to sleep like a friggin' toddler. So I ask, have you ever been just sick and tired of being sick and tired? I have but this is a totally different thing for me, two kids, a household to run, pounds to lose and a husband to snuggle up to before I pass out every night...who has time for this??!
